Ricigliano Earns DPOTW and Cervesa Modelo Man of the Match vs WP South Sound

May 21, 2017

Brent Ricigliano is a forward, but don't tell him that.  Brent has played as an attacking player most of his life.  He starred at South Kitsap High School scoring in the State Finals as SKHS won it all in 2009.  He moved on to Peninsula College and continued displaying his striking prowess there.  He has even scored goals for the former Kitsap Pumas Indoor team.

Fast forward to the 2017 Force season and Brent has regularly found himself up front again.  However, on this date, trying to earn himself more playing time, Brent agreed to play right back.  It's not the first time this season he has been asked to play somewhere other than his preferred position as he took over in goal in the first game of the year when GK Lewis Watson got injured.

On Sunday, there was only one thing in question the entire game...was anyone going to get by Ricigliano?  South Sound tried.  Three of their five substitutions were directly related to trying to get any attack down that side.  Different players, different speeds, quick guys, strong guys...it just didn't matter.  Ricigliano not only crushed any attack that came his way, he even managed to get into the attack and created a few opportunities for the Force going forward.  This performance not only earned him the Cervesa Modelo Man of the Match but the league agreed with the performance and has also awarded him the EPLWA Defensive Player of the Week award.

Congratulations Brent "Dad Bod" Ricigliano, well earned.  You can read more CLICK HERE.
